We are now looking for talented Field Service Engineers to join our Digital Wells team in our regional headquarters in China. Our customers in Digital Wells division include many of the largest oil companies in the world. Kongsberg Digital’s systems are monitoring real-time drilling operations for hundreds of wells every day. Thousands of users are relying on us to provide a stable, high quality and well performing solution.
travel to customer locations (i.e. customer offices, land rigs, offshore rigs, etc) to deploy and configure our software solutions
give training courses
provide consultancy services
act as an interface between KDI and the customer
work closely with the sales team in China and APAC – preparing and presenting technical proposals
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) discipline.
Master’s degree is preferred, but Bachelor’s degree may be considered with relevant experience.
Knowledge and experience related to IT/Networking.
Knowledge and experience of drilling processes, drilling data and drilling operations.
IT certifications, preferably Windows Server system administration, Cloud systems (MS Azure), networking.
Proven technical support experience is an advantage.
Offshore safety certificates, is an advantage.
Understanding of software development methodologies is an advantage.
Native in Mandarin; excellent written and verbal skills in English.
This position is in Beijing, China. The candidate must be able to work locally in China.
2-3 years of experience, preferably in the upstream oil & gas industry.
1-2 years of experience with IT Support/Network/Windows servers.
Experience related to WITSML based applications is an advantage.
Good general knowledge of hardware, software and IT.
